Conducting economic and social research and studies and preparing development strategies.

Defining policies for private sector development and providing a suitable environment for its investments.

Preparing and implementing sectoral, regional and local policies, setting investment priorities, monitoring their implementation and evaluating them.

Managing and coordinating economic, social, cultural, scientific and artistic programs funded by various external sources, and supervising and evaluating their projects.

Participating in setting economic reform directions and in assessing the level of achievement of goals.

Reviewing and developing economic policies in accordance with the goals and directions of economic reform.

Preparing the overall indicators for long, medium and short-term plans, including their objectives and policies, with the participation of ministries, government sectors, the private sector and civil society, and in line with strategies and visions.

Studying and analyzing sectoral and regional policies and their implementation methods, and analyzing their compatibility with development strategies.

Preparing policies and plans for cooperation with local and foreign non-governmental organizations in coordination with relevant authorities.

Preparing plans and programs for economic, technical and scientific cooperation with countries, economic blocs, international organizations, agencies and specialized institutions, and preparing and organizing the work of all joint committees with sister and friendly countries at all levels.

Analyzing and studying regional and international variables and their impact on the national economy, and proposing policies to address them.

Conducting studies to predict future development trends and their impact on the national economy, and proposing appropriate policies to address them.

Creating and providing the appropriate conditions for achieving Arab economic integration.

Preparing studies and developing policies aimed at developing human resources in accordance with market needs and development plans and programs.

Studying and analyzing differences in economic and social growth between regions and local levels and developing policies aimed at addressing those differences and achieving balance.

Assisting local authorities in preparing, monitoring the implementation of, and evaluating local plans and programs.

Studying and reviewing draft sectoral and regional plans in light of the adopted strategies and policies and formulating them into a general plan for the national economy.

Participating in the preparation of annual financial and monetary budgets in line with the trends and indicators of economic plans.

Setting priorities for domestic and foreign borrowing for development projects and programs in a way that serves to achieve the goals and indicators of programs, plans and strategies.
