Participating in the development of development plans

Preparing annual, semi-annual, and quarterly economic reports

Conducting periodic economic analyses of sectoral data issued by government agencies

Studying the economic dimensions of laws and regulations that are enacted or amended, conducting studies and research on them, monitoring developments related to social indicators, national accounts, public finance, and the monetary sector, and preparing the necessary reports and research to formulate policies related to them.

Conducting studies and research related to the local and foreign economy, developments in foreign trade, and ways to strengthen intra-regional trade, in addition to studying commodity balances for agricultural and industrial products, the movement of exports and imports, and their impact on economic growth.

Conducting future forecasting studies (economic forecasts) on development trends and their impact on the national economy, and proposing appropriate policies to address them.

Developing and updating forecasts for macroeconomic and sectoral indicators in light of regional and global economic changes.

The work involves identifying the competitiveness of economic sectors by monitoring and studying economic activities to compare them with their counterparts at the regional and international levels, proposing ways to enhance and improve that competitiveness through preparing analytical studies on those sectors, organizing workshops to discuss topics affecting competitive performance, developing recommendations on them, and working to spread competitive thinking.

Monitoring the development of statistical information systems for social and economic dimensions, overseeing their updating, and establishing a database on local, regional, and international economic data and variables.
