The Ministry’s priorities
Colleagues, Development Partners, and the Resilient People of Yemen,
I assume this national responsibility at a critical moment in our country’s history, fully aware of the economic, humanitarian, and development challenges facing Yemen. In this context, we will work to strengthen the role of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation as a key driver of economic recovery, reconstruction, and sustainable development, while fostering partnerships that respond to the priorities and needs of the Yemeni people.
First: Strengthening International Partnerships
We will enhance cooperation with development partners, donors, and international institutions to ensure that available resources are directed toward impactful development programs and projects, while maximizing the benefits of international assistance and grants.
Second: Transitioning from Relief to Development
We will focus on advancing recovery and sustainable development efforts, strengthening national institutions, and supporting a gradual transition from emergency humanitarian assistance to development initiatives that create jobs, improve livelihoods, and reduce poverty.
Third: Transparency and Coordination
We will continue to improve planning, coordination, and aid management mechanisms in order to enhance transparency, increase the efficiency of resource utilization, and ensure effective collaboration between government institutions and development partners.
Fourth: Supporting Vital Sectors
The health, education, basic services, and infrastructure sectors will remain among the Ministry’s top priorities, contributing to improved service delivery and better living conditions for citizens across all governorates.
Achieving these goals requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders—government institutions, development partners, and national organizations—working together in a spirit of responsibility and partnership to serve Yemen and its people.
Thank you.
