Developing a vision and strategy for long- and medium-term development, and the policies and development plans that embody it.

Conducting research and studies to develop development strategies and policies.

Studying the variables and their impact on the national economy and proposing appropriate policies to address them.

Preparing macro indicators for development plans.

Preparing indicators for sectoral plans and organizing the distribution of national plan tasks across different sectors.

Planning for regional and local development and preparing regional and local distribution schedules for development programs and projects.

Human resource planning within the framework of economic and social development plans and their needs for different specializations, professions and skills.

Defining and introducing planning methods and techniques, and training planning personnel in various state agencies to apply them.

Organizing and monitoring the implementation of the tasks of preparing plans for all ministries and other entities involved in implementation.

Reviewing drafts of economic and social development plans, discussing them with relevant stakeholders, and finalizing them.

Monitoring the implementation of development plans in all their components and evaluating them in coordination with ministries and other entities.

Coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, and other relevant ministries, institutions, and bodies in preparing financial, monetary, and development plans, and related monetary aspects, foreign aid and assistance, savings development, and rationalizing their uses.

Participating in international conferences and meetings related to its tasks and responsibilities.

Preparing regular reports and statements about its activities and achievements.
